Ireland Blog 10/22/15
My country is Ireland and it is the very west of the United Kingdom. Ireland is a parliamentary democracy that filled with culture, religion, and history. Ireland is lead by president John.D Higgins. I think he is a good president that makes good decisions. There were some very weird and not right laws before President Higgins. One law was that Jews could not wear armor in Ireland for some reason, This was one of the most poor and upsetting laws. Currently he is in his seven year term which will end in 2018. The main religion is roman catholic which makes sense because of Celtics. Holidays and culture are very much based around Christianity and roman catholic. The biggest holiday/celebration is St.Patrick's day. In Ireland it is the biggest holiday and is very fun. In America it is a very fun and different so I just can't imagine how crazy it is in Ireland.

I'm excited to hear your presentation about Ireland. I think your family connections to the country will also be helpful in connecting the class with the beauty and culture of Ireland. The picture tells it all! I never knew about the weird laws they had either and I'm glad you were able to find something to connect to so many students. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job! One way your country Ireland and my country Australia are different is that that Ireland has a President and Australia has a Prime Minister. It was really cool to learn about Ireland.
ReplyDeleteGreat job. It was very interesting to learn about Ireland. France is very different so it was cool to learn about the things different countries do.
ReplyDeleteYour blog was amazing! Brazil used to have mostly Roman Catholics and now they have mainly Christians, I understand where most of the Roman Catholics went now.
ReplyDeleteYou did a nice job on your blog! That's good that the president in Ireland is making good decisions! Mexico also has a president as well. That's interesting that they had those weird laws! I also really like the cool picture that you added! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteGood job on your blog and presentation. It was very interesting to learn about the potato famine. China and Ireland both have a president, and other than that there doesn't seem to be much more in common.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your blog and pinterest board. It was so fascinating to hear about how much potatoes mattered to Ireland. I didn't know that the president in Ireland can serve 7 years, in Austria the president can only run for 6 years.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job. My country (India) also has a president but the prime minister is the head of the government. Your country looks really beautifully. My country also depends on farm just like yours.
