Don't Eliminate Egypt
Don't Eliminate Egypt
My country that I researched on was Egypt. It is a small country located in the northern tip of africa and part of the middle east The government in Egypt is big, powerful and oppressive in my opinion. I think this because many rights that we have in the U.S. are severely suppressed like freedom of speech, assembly and press. Also in egypt only 50% of voters vote which makes elections way easier to rig in one's favor. It also has a big farming economy. Over 29% of the people in Egypt are employed due to farming and agricultural pursuits. One of the main reason that Egypt is big on farming is because of the nile river. The economy is Egypt in my opinion is pretty messed up considering that their Gdp per capita is 3,314 and in the U.S the GDP is 53,041. Although 29% percent of Egyptians are employed due to agricultural pursuits. Many are employed because of the tourism in egypt, because it contains one of the seven wonders of the world.

The Amazing Australia
By:Katie K.
Australia is one amazing country. It is located in the Southern Hemisphere and is the largest of the islands that make up Oceania. Although Australia was first used as a penal colony by England, it is now a very pleasant place to live. The penal colony was a place where they put the exile prisoners to separate them from the general public. I think it is great that they were able to turn their country around and become a peaceful place. Before the criminals arrived, the land was occupied by people we now call the Aboriginal Tribe. The early settlers set up trade with the Aborigines. I think that this was a good idea because it help the people and the Aboriginals to create a calm area. The Aborigines can claim a unique musical instrument to call their own, the didgeridoo. The didgeridoo is a instrument that creates a distinctive sound. Didgeridoo creates a beautiful sound in my opinion. The head of Australia’s government is the Prime Minister. As part of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II is the Head of State. However this position carries no real power. There have been 29 Prime Ministers in Australia. The Prime Minister is considered to be like the President of the United States of America. I think that is really cool because they kind of have the same government. I learned a lot about the amazing Australia.

Blog about Serbia
My country is Serbia. It is located in Europe and the countries surrounding Serbia are Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, and Albania. I learned a lot of interesting things about Serbia. I learned that the overall literacy rate for 15 year olds in Serbia is 98.1%. The life expectancy for the people in Serbia is about 78 years. I learned that one of the main dances in Serbia is Kolo. That is when everyone gets in a circle, holds hands, and does a dance to Serbian folk music in the background. People usually dance Kolo at weddings, Slava's, parties, and other functions. I also learned that in Serbia they have a president, which is the leader of the country, who is named Tomislav Nikolic. Serbia relies on agriculture and manufacturing. Serbia imports more than it exports. It also used to be part of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia had broken up in 1992. One of the reasons Yugoslavia had broken up was because the wars that had been going on between Bosnia and Croatia. So after the breakup it had turned into 6 different countries; Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Macedonia. Another thing that I have learned about Serbia is that the main language is Serbian and the main religion is Serbian Orthodox. I think that Serbia was a really interesting country to learn about.
