UAE's the Name, Petroleum's the game
United Arab Emirates: Middle East/Asia. I like this country because it is unique, and in a region that’s not so friendly when this place is the friendliest place in the Middle East. I learned that it’s economy is based off oil and petroleum. It also is home to the tallest building on Earth. It has special customs, food, arts, geography, and so many more. The UAE has a prime minister and a president. They both shape up the country to what it is now. I think that is a good way of ruling the country because they don't get in each other's ways with all the things they have to do. It is different from the USA because they have 2 people in charge, not just one. The economy is a big part of the UAE. With a country that ranks 93rd in population, they rank 26th in export value, which is a huge difference. I like that the UAE has grown because of the export value and how it has became so popular with all of the exports. The United States have a big economy also and that is probably one of the similarities. Most of the people in the UAE are Muslim. I like that because they are free to practice any religion such as Judaism, Christianity, and multiple other religions. The United States are also free to practice any religion too. Another big factor is geography. I like the place of the UAE because it is in the desert. It's temperatures get up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, which I personally think is too hot. In the USA, temperatures get really hot and really cold because it's so big. The UAE is about the same size as South Carolina, which is small for a country, but I think that it's really cool. Another fun thing to research is the Burj Khalifa. It is the tallest building in the world. I think that is a sign that it has a great economy, which it does. It was made in 2010, and was originally named the Burj Dubai, but they named it after the president. The United Arab Emirates was a really fun country to research and I hope to learn more. https://www.pinterest.com/jgoldperiod2/charlie-hart-period-2-united-arab-emirates/

Loved the information you shared. I can tell you really learned a lot about the country. You were able to explain the information and compare it to what the students knew/understood about their own way of life (religion, etc). Well done, Charlie!
ReplyDeleteI loved your blog. I think it is interesting that they got so rich off of oil. My country Italy, their economy collapsed but I bet if they had oil they would be just fine.
ReplyDeleteI really liked learning about your country. It seems like a great place to be with all that money.
ReplyDeleteI had fun reading your blog, I was amazed when I learned about how much money UAE has, Brazil doesn't have a desert like the one in UAE
ReplyDeleteIt is so cool that UAE has the biggest sand dessert in the world! Australia also has deserts. There are ten of them, One way my country is different then yours is that yours has more exports of oil and mine is more agriculture. UAE is a very unique place.
ReplyDeleteYou did a really great job on your blog! Oil is also a very big part of Mexico's economy. One of the world's largest oil companies Pemex, is owned by the Mexican government. Mexico also has a president as well as the UAE. Our two countries have a few things in common. Nice work on your blog!
ReplyDeleteI liked your blog. You had a lot of good information. I never knew that the biggest building in the world is in UAE.
ReplyDeleteI liked your blog and your presentation. My country has a Prime Minister like yours, but not a president. Also, only 4% of the U.K's population is Muslim, and most of the population in the UAE is Muslim. I think that that is really cool that they built a building named after someone. Good job presenting!
ReplyDeleteI loved your presentation. My country also has a president and a prime minister. I think it is very interesting that they are so rich even if they are by poor countries. I agrue with you it's better to have two people in power not just one
ReplyDeleteI liked your blog. You had a lot of good information. I never knew that the biggest building in the world is in UAE.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog and you did an outstanding job on presenting. I am very interested in the world largest building because before you brought me this info I thought that the world largest building was in China.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that our countries are total opposites because yours is super rich and mine is super poor. Also I want to see the day were the UAE runs out of oil.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your presentation. Your country is one of riches in the world and has all this expensive stuff but mine is really poor many would never think of having vending machines that dispense Gold
ReplyDeleteI learned a lot about United Arab Emirates in your blog and presentation. I think it's cool how UAE's biggest export is oil and they get so much money because of oil. In Austria there biggest export is medications which is very different than oil. I really liked your presentations and all your details, Great Job!
ReplyDeleteYour blog and presentation were fun to read and listen to. One way Peru, my country, and Yemen are different is that instead of having a president and a Prime minister leading, Peru has a president an one or two vice presidents. Another way they are different is that Yemen's most popular religion is Muslim, and in Peru the main religion is Roman Catholic.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your blog. I did not know how rich the UAE was. That was very interesting. One thing that the UAE and Ecuador have in common is that they both have a president however Ecuador doesn't have a prime minister.
ReplyDeleteYou did a really good job presenting. I learned a lot about the UAE. The UAE is so much different then Nepal. Especially considering that the UAE is rich and Nepal is extremely poor. I also thought it was interesting that they have the tallest building in the world there.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with your presentation and blog. I thought it was very interesting that your country is a democracy, similar to Israel which is also a democracy. However unlike Israel your country has a lot of raw petroleum. The coolest thing your presentation was the largest building in the world.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your presentation and blog. Both Guatemala and UAE rely a lot on exports. But UAE is mostly muslims and guatemala is mostly roman catholics. I think it is cool that that UAE has the Burj Khalifa.
