Amazing Austria

Amazing Austria
The country I researched was Austria and Austria's located in Europe. It was really fun and interesting to learn about Austria. I got to learn about Austria’s government, daily life, religion, history, economy, language, geography, and art. I had no idea that Austria’s president is Heinz Fischer and that the voting age is sixteen in Austria. I assumed that the president in Austria would serve for four years and have up to two terms like the U.S, but in Austria the president serves for six years for up to two terms. I think it’s great that the presidents can have six year terms because then Austria has the same president for a longer amount of time. I also didn’t know that Austria’s official language is German but in highschool they're required to know English. I can’t imagine speaking in a different language at school because it would be so strange to speak different languages in different places. I also didn’t know that throughout the day they eat breakfast, Jause, a midday meal, a nighttime snack, and then at the end of the day they have Abendessen. These are just a few things I learned about Austria and it was so fun. I hope I can continue to learn more about Austria and hopefully visit Austria someday.

  1. I think your blog and board were very interesting. I'd like you to look more into the refugees from Syria coming to Austria and the problems they are causing currently. I love the pictures you chose and the information overall!

  3. I think that your pinterest board looks really good and your information is good too. I was surprised when I found out that the voting age in Asia is 16 years old, I think that is very young! the voting age in Russia is 18 years old, its still a little young but better than 16. My country and your country's schools are both supposed to learn English because it is a popular foreign language. Overall, great job and a great idea to research Austria because not a lot of people know about it.

  5. Learning about Austria was very interesting. Learning about the refugee camps was interesting. China only really has to worry about people who have escaped from North Korea. I really liked the presentation and your blog!

  6. I think that you gave very good information both in your presentation and in your blog. That is interesting that the voting age is at least sixteen years old in Austria. In the United States it is 18 years old. Do you think that the 16 year olds are mature enough to vote? Great Job!

  7. Your presentation today was very interesting. I noticed differences between Peru and Austria like how the president of Peru only serves 5 year terms, but in Austria they can serves 6 year terms. Also I think it is interesting that the voting age is 16. In my opinion, that is too young because they might not be mature enough to vote.

  8. I loved your blog and Pinterest, I didn't even know that Austria existed. In Brazil the voting age is 19, it's crazy how the voting age is 16 in Austria.

  9. I think that you did a great job presenting. I can't believe that the voting age is 16! I don't think that they are mature enough. Also, it is cool how the President serves for 6 years. Another thing like Alina, I barely knew it existed!

  10. You did great! I can not believe the voting age! 16! I do not think people are mature enough to vote at 16. It is cool how they eat dinner so late and it helps then eat less. Like CeCe and Alina I did not know Austria existed.
