Don't Eliminate Egypt
Don't Eliminate Egypt
My country that I researched on was Egypt. It is a small country located in the northern tip of africa and part of the middle east The government in Egypt is big, powerful and oppressive in my opinion. I think this because many rights that we have in the U.S. are severely suppressed like freedom of speech, assembly and press. Also in egypt only 50% of voters vote which makes elections way easier to rig in one's favor. It also has a big farming economy. Over 29% of the people in Egypt are employed due to farming and agricultural pursuits. One of the main reason that Egypt is big on farming is because of the nile river. The economy is Egypt in my opinion is pretty messed up considering that their Gdp per capita is 3,314 and in the U.S the GDP is 53,041. Although 29% percent of Egyptians are employed due to agricultural pursuits. Many are employed because of the tourism in egypt, because it contains one of the seven wonders of the world.

Excellent blog, Eric. I really like how you added your opinion about the suppression in Egypt and really hope you discuss this during your presentation! I also liked your comparisons to the US. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your blog presentation. Egypt is a really cool country to study. My country is a very liberal and free country unlike Egypt.
ReplyDeleteGreat job. It really looked like you knew what you were talking about. Like Egypt, France has a famous monument The Eiffel Tower.
ReplyDeleteYour blog and Presentation are awesome! Brazil doesn't have one of the world wonders, but it does have a really large statue called Christ the Redeemer. Its the most popular tourist spot.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your blog and your presentation! In your blog, you did a really good job on stating your opinion. It sounds like agriculture is a very big part of the economy there! That's not good that only 50% of voters vote! Great job! I learned a lot about Egypt from your blog and presentation.
ReplyDeleteGood job on your presentation and your blog. I could really tell you knew a lot about your country. China has the Great Wall as a big monument many people visit. I really enjoyed learning about Egypt.
ReplyDeleteYour presentation and blog were really good. I thought that the history was extremely interesting. I thought it was really funny that king tut became the pharaoh when he was 8. I also thought that it was cool that agriculture was such a big part of the economy.
ReplyDeleteI think that your pinterest presentation was very interesting, also I could tell they you practiced a lot. I found it sort of funny that King Tut started to rule when he was only 8 years old. I could not even believe that there was a huge amount of agriculture in a desert! Good job on the presentation and I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job. I thought you did a great explaining the pyramids. I think it's interesting that King Tut was king when he was 8 years old! Could you imagine an 8 year old running a country. My country is India and they also depend on farming for a big part of economy. But they are starting to go more into factories.
ReplyDeleteGood job with your presentation and blog. Similar to israel; Egypt's economy is partially based on agriculture. However, Israel grows more of a variety of fruits and vegetables than Egypt. Overall good job.
ReplyDeleteYou did a very good job on your presentation and blog. I really liked when you talked about King Tut and the pyramids, Guatemala has something a little like the pyramids which is Tikal.
