The Mighty Kingdom Of The Netherlands

The country I studied was The Netherlands. The Netherlands is a very small country in Europe. One of the things I found most interesting is The Netherlands Government. I was so happy and impressed that most people in the Netherlands are okay with same sex marriage and that it was the first country in the world to make in legal! I thought the U.S was the first country who started this just in 2015. But the Dutch started it in 2001! Now moving on to History. I choose to write about Anne Frank. The holocaust is a very interesting and touchy subject for me. I know so much about Anne and her life. She was very a important girl and ended up giving The Netherlands a lot of tourist because of her museum. Anne Frank is a great role model. It was very interesting relearning about her life. I think it’s unfair that she had to live in a house and never come out for 2 years. It’s also very tragic that her and her family were found by the nazi’s and died in a consentration camp in Poland called Auschwitz. After the war her father who survived it found her diary and published it. A quote from her diary states “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” This is really surprising. She doesn't hate Hitler and the nazi’s for doing this to her and her people. She still believes they are good people. This teaches people all around the world to always see the good in people no matter what.
This Is a picture of Anne Frank
Writing in her diary.
Another thing that was especially interesting is The Netherlands is the Arts they have. I am a BIG fan of art. One of my favorite artists in Vincent Van Gogh. I learned a little bit about him when I was younger. Then I found so much more information on him. For example.. He was bipolar, and born in the Netherlands. I didn't know that! The only thing I knew was that he was famous and that he cut off half of his ear. This is Vincent Van Gogh
In The Netherlands economy they rely so much on international trading. That’s why after The Holocaust people were starving because The Netherlands have very few natural resources. They also export HALF the world's tulips! That’s crazy and a lot of tulips… Overall I really enjoyed learning about my country and can’t wait to learn even more! I’m also looking forward to possibly blogging more in the future. I think this was very fun. :)

Here's My pinterest board on more about The Kingdom Of The Netherlands.

  6. There was more information that you shared with us on the netherlands than I thought. I had no idea that Van Gogh traveled there. I also did not know about the insane amount of tulips that are grown there. All of the traits of culture that you shared with us was very interesting. Like the Netherland much of Israels economy is based on agriculture. However they grow food not flowers. Overall I enjoyed both your blog and your presentation.

  8. That was a great presentation! I liked how you went above and beyond and did more than 3. I liked how you based your government on the LGBT and I like how they give support for that. There's nothing like that in my country, the UAE in the middle east. I also liked your format of your blog.

  18. I loved your blog. Great information. I like that you focused on other things that most people wouldn't have. I also think it is interesting that the Netherlands were the first ones to legalize the gay marriage, I am not sure if Italy has. I don't think they did because most of the people are roman catholic.
