The Amazing Australia
By:Katie K.
Australia is one amazing country. It is located in the Southern Hemisphere and is the largest of the islands that make up Oceania. Although Australia was first used as a penal colony by England, it is now a very pleasant place to live. The penal colony was a place where they put the exile prisoners to separate them from the general public. I think it is great that they were able to turn their country around and become a peaceful place. Before the criminals arrived, the land was occupied by people we now call the Aboriginal Tribe. The early settlers set up trade with the Aborigines. I think that this was a good idea because it help the people and the Aboriginals to create a calm area. The Aborigines can claim a unique musical instrument to call their own, the didgeridoo. The didgeridoo is a instrument that creates a distinctive sound. Didgeridoo creates a beautiful sound in my opinion. The head of Australia’s government is the Prime Minister. As part of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II is the Head of State. However this position carries no real power. There have been 29 Prime Ministers in Australia. The Prime Minister is considered to be like the President of the United States of America. I think that is really cool because they kind of have the same government. I learned a lot about the amazing Australia.
I liked your blog, it was filled with new and good information that I did not know. I liked how you wrote a lot about the Aborigines because I had no clue that they existed, I wonder if my country, Italy had any natives that did anything cool.
ReplyDeleteYour blog was really good. You have a lot of information and explained everything very well. I didn't know that Australia's head of government is a prime minister. My country Serbia has a president.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog! That's interesting that the head of the government is the Prime Minister, and that the head of the state is Queen Elizabeth the second. In my country, the president is the head of the state and the head of the government. I learned a lot of information that I did not know before about Australia! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun reading your blog, I think you did a great job. In Brazil they don't have a king or queen they just have a president.
ReplyDeleteYour blog was very interesting, I really liked learning about the Aboriginal Tribe. They kind of remind me of the Native Americans. In my country China, the Vice president is like the Prime Minister and the president is more like a king or queen. I really liked you presentation too, keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteGood job presenting! I like how my country once ruled yours! I also think that it is cool that you talk about a tribe because I had no clue that there was a tribe call the Aborigines. The Queen of the United Kingdom is Queen Elizabeth the II and that is cool that you mentioned that, and the Prime Minister. I think Australia is a very cool place and I really liked learning about it!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blog and I thought you did a great job presenting. I think its very interesting that Australia was an great British Settlement.
ReplyDeleteYou did great :). I think it is great that they were able to turn their country around after having prisoners and become a peaceful place. It very interesting to see that they have the same government. My country used to be controlled by The United Kingdom too!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your blog because it was really interesting to read. In Austria they don't have a king or queen and the head of their country is Heinz Fischer. Your blog taught me a lot about Australia.
ReplyDeleteYour blog and presentation was pretty cool and I learned some pretty cool things that I didn't know about the Australia
ReplyDeleteI really thought that your blog and presentation were great! I thought it was really interesting that they make everybody vote on one day. They force everybody to vote or they will get fined. I also thought it was cool that the oldest surviving culture is found there.
ReplyDeleteYou did an exceptional job with your presentation and blog. I learned many things. One includes how Australia has three branches of government just like Israel. However, unlike Australia Israel does not force their citizens to vote.
ReplyDeleteI think you presented very nicely and I really like your pinterest board. I liked how you talked about the aboriginal tribe and the didgeridoo instrument. I didn't really know much about Australia and I learned a lot. You did a good job finding good facts and information. My country is different from yours because Russia is very big. You said that 18 year olds have to vote in your country which is cool, in my country you can drink when your 18.
ReplyDeleteMy country is a little bit like your country. One thing is that we both have very stable ad liberal country's. Also we both have queens that represent our country's
ReplyDeleteIn your presentation and your blog you really did a great job discussing the aboriginals and the rich history of Australia. I think you gave a lot of great information that students would not know about Australia otherwise. Well done!
