Mexico
My country is Mexico.  Mexico is in North America.  I learned about all of the 8 traits of culture in Mexico.  I learned that the most common language that is spoken in Mexico is Spanish.  The Spanish that they use is a little bit different by the way they use their idioms and pronunciation.  I think that it is also pretty cool that about 100 languages are spoken in different parts of Mexico today.  I also learned that Mexico’s current president is Enrique Pena Nieto.  The president is the head of the state and the head of the government.  He has attracted many voters because he promised them things that they wanted.  I think that he is a pretty good president because he is trying to give the citizens what they want and he is trying to help them.  In addition, I also learned that for students in Mexico, there are six years of primary school, and there are three years of basic secondary school.  These nine years of school are free.  If the students want to continue their education, then they can take a technical education program, or a pre-university education.  I think this is pretty similar to the way our school system works because we have school for free up until we get to college, and then we have to pay for college.  I learned a lot about my country through this project, and I hope to learn more in the future. https://www.pinterest.com/jgoldperiod1/nicole-dobrin-period-2-mexico/

This is where Mexico is located on a world map.

  1. It was very interesting to learn about Mexico. Its government is very similar to France's except the president can serve two terms and each term is five years. I also liked learning about the children in school. You did really great.

  2. My country was the United Kingdom. The U.K has a monarchy, and yours is a democracy. (We think) And yours is in North America, and mine is in Europe. One thing we have in common though is that there are some different languages spoken there. I don't have 100, but I have about 5. I thought your presentation was very good!

  3. I think that your pinterest was very nice. It was similar to Greece but at least mexico has an economy that is standardly strong, also in Greece the prime minister serves for five years. I thought that it was really cool that Mexico has it so the first few years are free

  4. I really enjoyed learning about Mexico. I researched China and in the China the official language is Mandarin, and tone is very important when speaking much like the pronunciation. If you use the wrong tone you can end up saying the wrong word.China also has a president even though it is a communist country, the president of China is Xi Jinping. You did really well when presenting, I really enjoyed learning about your country.

  5. I really liked your blog about Mexico. While I was listening to your presentation and reading your blog I noticed a couple similarities between Mexico and my country, Peru. In Peru, the official language is also Spanish. I also noticed that both the president of Mexico and Peru are both head of government.

  6. Your presentation was really fun to learn about. I thought there was a lot of differences between Mexico and the USA. The education was what interested me the most. I thought it was kind of weird that they only go to school for six years and then they can go to secondary school for three years. Then I thought that they probably think it's weird that we go to school for 12 years and then college for four more years. Over all you did an extremely good job teaching all of us about Mexico.

  10. I was surprised that there was a lot that I didn't know about Mexico. I Had no idea that Mexico was a Democracy. Or they had a president. My country, Israel is also a democracy. Also I noticed that both countries have free education. However, unlike Mexico Israel speaks Hebrew not, Spanish.

  19. I find it very interesting that Mexico has so many languages-and that you highlighted that in your blog. I wonder how the immigration policy in the US is affecting Mexico...that would be interesting for you to include.
