Blog about Serbia

My country is Serbia. It is located in Europe and the countries surrounding Serbia are Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, and Albania. I learned a lot of interesting things about Serbia. I learned that the overall literacy rate for 15 year olds in Serbia is 98.1%. The life expectancy for the people in Serbia is about 78 years. I learned that one of the main dances in Serbia is Kolo. That is when everyone gets in a circle, holds hands, and does a dance to Serbian folk music in the background. People usually dance Kolo at weddings, Slava's, parties, and other functions. I also learned that in Serbia they have a president, which is the leader of the country, who is named Tomislav Nikolic. Serbia relies on agriculture and manufacturing. Serbia imports more than it exports. It also used to be part of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia had broken up in 1992. One of the reasons Yugoslavia had broken up was because the wars that had been going on between Bosnia and Croatia. So after the breakup it had turned into 6 different countries; Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Macedonia. Another thing that I have learned about Serbia is that the main language is Serbian and the main religion is Serbian Orthodox. I think that Serbia was a really interesting country to learn about.

  4. Your country was so interesting to learn about! I think it's cool that their main export is raspberries, where in Peru, main exports are not fruits. I also liked watching a part of the dance Kolo. Peru also has a traditional dance called the huanca dance.
